An annual Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS) Conference is held in America every year.  A smaller ‘EuroCACS’ is also held in Europe.  In 2008 this took place in Stockholm.

Local chapters run regular local events and seminars, usually in the local language, details are usually to be found on the chapter’s web-site. Many chapters publish regular newsletters. All members receive a regular magazine ‘Information Systems Control Journal’ and have access to a members-only resource section of the main web-site.

ISACA supports two globally recognised professional qualifications:

CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor.

The CISA program was established in 1978. A 4 hour, 200 multiple-choice question examination is held on the second Saturday in June every year. Candidates must show a thorough knowledge of basic audit  techniques, business risks and controls and all aspects of I.T. The qualification requires a 'pass'  in  the examination plus formal confirmation of appropriate professional experience. To retain the certification holders must show minimum levels of continuing education each year.  CISA has been earned by over 35,000 people.

CISM - Certified Information Security Manager.

This qualification was newly introduced in 2003. The basic concept is similar to CISA but the knowledge base and required experience is I.T. Security Management.

Detailed information about the organisation, it’s objectives, the qualifications and chapter event schedules can be found on the local chapter web-site or the main ISACA site.
Most chapter sites, and the events they hold, are in the local language.
