From time to time we try to be of some assistance to some charitable activity.
Please note that Cronos Consulting does not stand to profit in any way from anything referenced here.
Silves Cine-Theatre Club
This is a small group of volunteers operating in the town of Silves in the Algarve, Portugal. The objective of the group is to raise money for a local charity - Castelo de Sonhos (Castle of Dreams), Portuguese registered charity (IPSS) number 3000062892. About 1,500 people depend on the support of this charity.
The charity receives no state funding, it is totally dependent on donations.
Castelo de Sonhos primarily supports children and their families, but also assists others in need. It provides food for children and the elderly, clothing, furniture and other household goods.
Silves Cine-Theatre Club operates out of an old disused cinema in Silves, located about 50 meters to the rear of the Silves Football Club stadium.. We run various social events, Jazz nights, plays, dances, or anything else we can think of. All profits from all these events go directly to Castelo de Sonhos, neither the club nor any member profits from the events. During 2009 we raised over 3700 euro at our events.
If you are going to be in the area on a holiday, playing golf or for any other reason you are welcome to join us for an evening. All events are open to the public, they can be lots of fun and every Euro spent at the events helps the charity to look after a child in need.
Send an e-mail to sctc@cronos-it.eu and we will be happy to send you full details of forthcoming events or to add you to the club mailing list.
